Competition Stayed Strong, With Buyers Needing To Prepare Early

San Francisco's single-family home market remained very active through Q1, with limited inventory continuing to create meaningful competition. Well-prepared homes drew strong attention, with buyers moving quickly, and pricing stayed firm throughout the quarter. The condo market also continued to regain momentum, with stronger demand and healthier pricing than we saw a year ago.

What I'm watching most closely is how confidence is returning in different ways across the market. Single-family homes continue to be especially competitive as supply remains tight, while the condo market is steadily improving. For buyers, that means preparation matters even more. Strong offers are not only competitive on price, but also on terms and timing. Successful buyers are working closely with their agents well before offer day to be ready when the right opportunity appears.
